The arrival of DJ Marshmellow at Fortnight turned the popular shooter into a concert venue for a while. And the unusual image of the musician gave life to a new character.

History of appearance: Marshmello concert at Fortnight

In the world of Fortnight, there have been rumors for a long time about the famous mysterious American DJ collaborating with Epic Games. The game periodically appeared hints about the likely performance of this musician in front of Fortnight players. In different locations, gamers noticed advertising pictures with the name and photo of the DJ, in which he was depicted as a marshmallow marshmallow. Some players assumed that the development plans were to launch a new character.

The long-awaited point confirming the arrival of DJ Marshmello on the island was the official announcement of his show at Pleasant Park, set for February 2, 2019.

Then the inhabitants of the island saw how heavy loads filled with musical equipment began to drive up to the new impromptu stage of the park.

On February 2, 2019, Pleasant Park shuddered from a one-time invasion of guests. 1. Search the posters advertising the concert. The posters could be found in many locations on the island: at the Spontaneous Dump, the Big Dance Floor, as well as in the Abandoned Towers, where you could see an advertising poster on the extreme brick booth near the river slope and search it. The prize for completing the task is the Marshmallow graffiti.
2. Visit the concert venue. On the day of the DJ’s arrival, it was necessary to come to the football field equipped for a large-scale stage in Pleasant Park. For this, the player received the Zephyr Dance prize.
3. Dance “Marshmallow Dance” at the “Truckers’ Oasis”, “Ice Cream Cafe” and “Frozen Lake”. After the player completed this task in the 3 designated locations, he was rewarded with the “Marshmallow Punisher” pickaxe.

Will there be a repeat of the event

For those who did not have time to visit the main event of the season – the Marshmello show on February 2, the game developers have prepared a surprise. In Season 9 of the Battle Royale World Championship, Marshmallow gave a second live concert. This event could only be seen on the stream of the Fortnight tournament on July 28 at 20:00 Moscow time.

It is not yet known whether Marshmallow will be a guest on the island in the next seasons.

After the DJ played sets as part of the Showtime Fortnight promotion, a Marshmello skin appeared in in-game stores, visually repeating the image of the famous musician.

Costume design

Marshmallow character image:

1. The hero’s head is shaped like a snow-white marshmallow marshmallow. Eyes and mouth – black crosses and a line curved in a smile.
2. White turtleneck with shoulder bandolier and gloves of the same color.
3. White slacks. On the trouser belt there are 2 small bombs that repeat the shape of the skin’s head.
4. Snow-white sneakers round off the playful look of Marshmello.

The feature of this character is not only a stylish color scheme. His head, elbow folds and knee pads are indicators of sorts. They respond to musical sounds corresponding to the victory dance after a PvP battle. If a hero is nearby performing a winner’s dance, Marshmello’s head, knee pads, and elbow folds begin to glow. Thanks to this cheat, you can understand that the enemy is nearby.

Another developer coup that highlights the new character is a new approach to using familiar items. The backpack, which often merges with the multi-colored images of the heroes, is given new life in the case of Marshmallow. If on a colored skin it is practically invisible, then on the back of a snow-white hero it looks profitable and bright.

Unlike some of the prize free items that make up the Marshmello set, the hero could be purchased with in-game currency – V-Bucks. It is not yet known whether this promotion will be repeated. It has been noticed that the skin only appears in the play store as part of a DJ performance.
