Since the introduction of Battle Royale Fortnite, Epic Games has been innovating in the context of gameplay. So, some time ago they created the creative mode of “Hide and Seek” in Fortnite, having interested users with fresh features of the storyline.
Description of the creative mode “Hide and Seek”
In addition to creating original mechanics in the popular browser-based shooter Fortnite, bringing elements of project building to the game, the developers opened up the opportunity for players to experience the role of creators of a 3D space. One of these is the creative hide and seek mode.
In the Prop & Hunt storyline, players are divided into 2 teams: hunters and props.
The latter will have to turn into different objects on the map, and the hunters will look for disguised opponents. Users of the mini-game can also create and implement their own scenarios on the island of their choice.
Who is the developer
Epic Games is renowned for its love of collaborations with creative people. This can be a famous musician or a team of creative professionals working in the gaming industry. In the case of “Hide and Seek”, the developers of the shooter have teamed up with the American design studio Stray Kite Studios, which has been specializing in the creation of game content for a long time.
The Wandering Serpent team consists of 15 talented professionals. Two of them are the founders of the studio. They are Shovaen Patel’s CTO (CEO, Technical Director, Co-Founder) and Creative Director Paul Hellquist (Chief Creative Officer, Co-Founder). The main artist of the company is Paul Slusser (Art Director). The creative background of the designers includes work on such large-scale projects as Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Halo Wars, Orcs Must Die and Hero Academy.
Years of experience in the gaming industry allowed Stray Kite Studios to create the relevant Prop & Hunt minigame for the Fortnite Battle Royale empire, which was unveiled and launched in 2019.
Team goals
Participants in the mini-game “Hide and Seek” are invited to split into 2 teams: seekers and disguises. Props hunted by hunters turn into any items that are on the territory of the map. It could be a rose bush, a small chip in a pile of logs, a plastic Coca-Cola cup, a toolbox, or any other object.
The task of the hunters is to find all disguised players within a round and destroy them. If they can’t find the props, the match is lost. The goal of each of the teams is the final victory over the enemy. A total of 15 people participate in the game.
List of challenges in “Hide and Seek”
Fortnite Battle Royale Week 6 Season 1 Chapter 2 quest is the Hunter and the Prey Challenges, by completing which players earn XP rewards.
- Land in locations scattered across different points of the map. These are “Fatal Farm”, “Nectar Lowland” and “Careless Coast”. You can visit them during several matches.
- Using the skills of a miner, find the required amount of resources: 500 units. wood, 400 units. stone and 300 units. metal in 1 match. Team brawl mode and resource locations will help you complete the task.
- Destroy 3 opponents in one of the specified locations: “Gentle Shore”, “Fatal Farm” during the 1st match.
- There are 7 loot chests in Pleasant Park and Lonely Lake. Search them in one of the named locations.
- Find and eat the collected items: mushrooms, apples and coconuts. Mushrooms are found in Nectar Lowland and Roaring Grove. They will increase defense by 5-10 units. Coconuts can be found at Easy Beach. Eating them will restore health and defense by 5 units. In the “Orchard” you need to eat apples that restore health by 5 units. The quest will be counted when you use 10 collected items in this way.
- Deal 100 damage to an enemy during match 1. pickaxe damage. The task is completed in both team brawl and classic mode.
- While collecting resources, find weak points on objects and hit them 5 times in a row. Suitable items for this quest: large trees, walls of buildings, various cars and a lighthouse. And the weak points on them are presented in the form of blue targets.
- In Team Rumble, land 10 blows to the head of an enemy. To complete this task, use a shotgun, sniper rifle, machine gun or pistol.
- In 1 match, visit 5 points of interest using a helicopter or by selecting adjacent zones on the Fortnight map. There are 52 attractions in Fortnite.
- Destroy 1 enemy in 5 matches. After you succeed in doing this, the task will be completed.
- In the final challenge of the Hunter and the Prey Challenge, you must find the letter I using the hint on the Hide and Seek loading screen. Judging by the picture, the action takes place in a three-story house located on the Fatal Farm. There is also a letter.
What rewards can be obtained
After completing 8 out of 10 objectives in the Hunter and the Prey Challenges, players receive 52,000 XP for each completed mission and the Hide and Seek loading screen.

Custom Card Codes
With patch 7.01, a new feature was introduced to Fortnite Creative – Fortnight Island Cheats. It was designed for gamers who want to create their own mini games and share them with other players.
To start one of these custom games, download Fortnight Creative, go to the Creative Hub and look for one of the standard portals that mark the entrance to the dedicated island.
Then press the E key and enter the 12-digit number that appears on the screen in the special field. After a while, a short description of the selected island will be loaded. The next step is to confirm your choice and wait for the gameplay to load.

Create your own map in creative mode
Thanks to the developers, you can create your own version of Hide and Seek with the help of special features and devices. To do this, load the skin into the game and select the Fortnite Creative mode from the toolbar. Going to the lobby, create a server and open access to it for teammates who can later join the gameplay.
The next step is to choose an island to get to through the rift. After selecting the desired zone, Map Island will load, where you can set the rules of the game, make buildings, add and remove items, constructing the space as you wish. You will see the main functions and buttons for designing the play area on the toolbar. For instance:
- ready-made elements;
- sets;
- devices;
- weapons;
- recommended items;
- chest.
