Fortnite Season 7 has finally arrived. The aliens have launched an invasion of the battle royale island, infiltrated our ranks and terraformed several different areas for their plans.
There are also a number of new game mechanics that are changing the Fortnite formula in some pretty interesting ways, namely the ability to pilot UFOs. Who said aliens get all the fun?

Fortnite Season 7 Trailer
The Fortnite Season 7 Trailer showcases an alien invasion and a single lone agent’s attempts to recruit more characters across time and space to defeat them. Yeah, this is Rick Sanchez at the command center.
Fortnite Battle Pass Season 7
The Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass has some significant changes this time around, as well as the usual set of new skins to collect.
In particular, players can now collect Battle Stars each time they level up. You can then spend those stars on (almost) anything you want, with the catch that higher tier items won’t be unlocked until you hit X tiers. So you will still need to get to level 100 for Rick and Morty’s stuff, but at least you can skip a few gimmicky cosmetic items that you don’t feel too strongly about.
Here are all the new skins included in the Season 7 Battle Pass.
Kaimera, the purple-skinned alien you get at the start of the Battle Pass, is a customizable character. By collecting alien artifacts on the map, you can spend them on customization options for skins for him, transforming Chimera into something more like Admiral Ackbar or Krombopoulos Michael.
Then there is Joey, the gruff mercenary who is actually just a costume for the alien woman who appears when you use her built-in emotion. Other highlights include the Meowscles back, a crawl emotion that lets you ride a miniature flying saucer, and a new alien pet named Choppy that rides on your back.
You can purchase the Basic Battle Pass for 950 V-Bucks and the Combat Pack for 2800 V-Bucks. Keep in mind that 1000 V-Bucks costs $ 7.99, but buying 2800 V-Bucks will cost $ 19.99.
New weapons and items
Season 7 may be one of the most innovative when it comes to new or improved gameplay mechanics.
Players can now shoot down and steal flying saucers, as well as use them to kidnap other players.

Space Chests are a new form of loot chests that only open when a party is nearby. It will then appear and teammates will have to take turns hitting it to open it, earning you top tier loot.

An updated crafting system was also presented. Players now collect nuts and bolts to craft new weapons such as AUG rifles, pump action shotguns, and silenced rapid-fire SMGs. More weapons are expected to be added over the course of the season.
