Wondering where the downed Fortnite black helicopter and broken telescopes are? FROM Fortnite Season 7 Chapter 2 Release Date Approaching Some strange events have happened on the Fortnite map. The plants in Colossal Crops have disappeared, telescopes have mysteriously broken all over the map, and now there is a helicopter that crashed, emitting a strange transmission.
These are the first two challenges in the game and serve as a link between seasons. More will likely appear over the next few weeks, but you are probably wondering where to find them since they are not highlighted on the map in the challenge screen.
Don’t worry, we’re here to help with that as we’ll show you where the downed helicopter is and what you need to do to hear the transmission. We’ll also detail what you need to do to fix broken telescopes, as all five of them are scattered throughout the map and require materials to repair.
LOCATION OF BROKEN FORTNITE TELESCOPES
There are five broken telescopes on the map, and each one requires 20 metal to repair, so make sure you have enough of them as soon as you find them. You will find broken Fortnite telescopes in the following locations :
- At the top of a smaller ice mountain southeast of Retail Row.
- On the hill next to the hut at the southeastern end of the map, past Kathy Corner.
- Cliff west of Sweaty Sands near the house
- On an island northwest of Stealthy Stronghold, about halfway up the hill.
- At the top of the hill east of the Craggy Cliffs
LOCATION OF KNOWN BLACK HELICOPTER IN FORTNITE
Downed black Fortnite helicopter crashed west of Lazy Lake, near Spire Outpost… However, just finding a helicopter is not enough. As you get closer, you will hear static and a voice trying to transmit the message.
Interact with the helicopter and you will see the text. There is a sequence you need to press to tune the radio to decrypt the message, with each step making the message less cloaked by static electricity. Keep fiddling with the plus and minus clues until you get the full message: “India Oscar Field Deconstruction Truck Arrives, OPSEC Level 3 is in effect, again, OPSEC 3 is OK now.”
After entering this sequence and securing the telescopes, you must complete both of the first Omen challenges. Hopefully you don’t need too many games to tune your helicopter radio as we are sure there will be many campers waiting to take out anyone repairing the radio.
