One of the first quests we received this season forces us to explore the latest game mechanics Fortnite: Crafting (Crafting)! Fortunately, this is not difficult and requires little effort. If that were the case, dying in a match would be much more unpleasant. However, being a new mechanic, some of you may be wondering exactly how to craft weapons and items.
How to craft weapons and items in Fortnite
As in other games, Fortnite created their development based on the collection of certain resources. There are currently two paths for your weapons, and we will explain how to get resources for each type. Before we explain the actual crafting process, we’ll take a look at where to find the resources needed for each weapon type.
Resources
Animal bones
If you want to craft the original weapon, you need to find animal bones. They can be collected by breaking the fossilized bone structures sticking out of the ground (as shown in the upper left image), or by hunting wild animals. As a rule, each bone structure or animal falls out one animal bone when you you need everything four to make the primary weapon.
Mechanical parts
If you want to craft mechanical weapons instead, you need to find mechanical parts. These parts are reassembled by breaking certain equipment such as forklifts, vehicles or tractors (shown in the above right image). Usually, each of them drops one mechanical part when you it only takes four to make a Mechanical Weapon…
Weapon
The last resource you will need to craft weapons is any homemade weapon. Improvised Weapons are common weapons scattered across the map with the title of Improvised Weapon. When you collect one of these and four animal bones or mechanical parts, you will have the necessary resources to craft Primal Weapons or Mechanical Weapons, respectively.
Craft
Crafting in Fortnite mostly intuitive, but it can be frustrating to look for an option in your inventory. As stated, the first thing you need to do is open your inventory. Once you’ve done that, you’ll notice in your inventory menu (top) a tab labeled create (highlighted in red in the image above). Select this tab.
Now that you are in the crafting menu, select the item you want to turn into something else (highlighted in yellow in the image above). Once you have the necessary resources, you can craft the weapon you want. If you don’t have resources, you will see a small red cross next to the weapon you want to craft.
All you have to do from here is click Create. Your character will exit the inventory menu and do a short crafting animation. Congratulations, you’ve created a weapon!
Note: in addition to weapons, you can create other items. Different objects can be used to make different things. Hold tight! We’ll have a complete recipe guide soon.
